6 Days Tooro Local Experience

Day 1: Kampala to Fortportal After breakfast at 8.00am, leave for Fort Portal with a stopover at the Nakayima tree in Mubendeand Mukwano tea estate before lunch in Fort Portal town, after which visit Nyakasura historical site. Check-in at the Hotel.Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tooro Kingdom Tour After an early breakfast, visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru – a cultural site with intriguing historical beliefsandhave a magnificent view ofSaaka crater lakes. After Lunch visit the Karuzika Palace built on famous Kabarole hill overlooking the beautiful historicalFortportal town. Depending on the day of the week, visit a weekly village market day. Return to the Hotel.Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Toro Culture and Bakonjo Tour After breakfast, check-out from the Hotel to visit the Karambi tombs, the royal burial grounds for the Kings of the Toro Kingdom. Proceed to Kasese town for lunch. After lunch break, visit Kilembe Mines to interact with Bakonjo people who live on the slopes of the Rwenzori. Check-in at the Hotel.Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Tour the Palace of the Rwenzururu King After your breakfast transfer to Kasese home to the Rwenzururu kingdom where you will have the opportunity to visit the Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu for yet another dynamic cultural treat here. Return to the Hotel for Lunch. After Lunch explore the foot hills of the Rwenzori mountains to the local organized Ruboni community group where you will be guided to various projects under taken by this local group with more cultural performances. Return to the Lodge.Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Game Drive, Museum and Launch Cruise  After early breakfast at 6.00am drive to Queen Elizabeth N.P for a morning game drive where you will view at close range a variety of wildlife and Birds. Visit the Kasenyi fishing village where you will interact with the local communities to learn more on challenges of living around the Lake shores. Proceed to the Park Museum for an educative insight on the existence of the Park. Have Lunch and after take a Launch Cruise on the Kazinga channel from where a variety of animals will be sighted at the River banks. Return to the Hotel.Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Kasese to Kampala  After breakfast at 7.00am drive back to Kampala through Fortportal while enjoying sights of terraced hills, traditional homesteads and Banana plantations with a stopover enroute for Lunch, photography, shopping of Art, Crafts and souvenirs before dropping you at the Hotel in Kampala/Entebbe.

 

 

3 Days Ankole Local Experience

Day 1: Igongo Cultural Centre

After breakfast at 7.00am, leave for Mbarara with a stopover at the Equator and Igongo Cultural Centre for photography and Lunch. After Lunch visit the 1520AD Eclipse monument and Museum before proceeding to Mbarara town driving through the terraced hills and banana plantations. Igongo Cultural Centre  located in Mbarara Town and part of the Ankole Kingdom in Uganda is  one of the best museums in western  Uganda, traditionally referred to as the  Eriijukiro (the museum of South Western Uganda). The Igongo Cultural Museum showcases the history, art and culture of the Ankole people in Western Uganda. Artifacts and regalia from the Obugabe (the Kingship) of the Ankole is well represented, the traditional long horned cattle, and dressing of the Ankle people is showcased at the Igongo Cultural Centre. Check-in at the Hotel.Dinner and Overnight.

Day 2: Bahima Ankole Culture

After breakfast at 8.00am,  visit the Omugabe Lake, Omugabe Palace and Ankole ranches from where you will learn more about the Bahima culture who are cattle keepers.Omugabe is a title given to local traditional kings of Ankole kingdom. Return to the Hotel for Lunch. After Lunch visit the Sanga Cultural village from where traditional ornaments and regalia of the tribe are also found at the centre. Return to the Hotel.Dinner and Overnight.

 Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast at 7.00am check-out from the Hotel and drive back to Kampala with a stopover in Lake Mburo national park from where Zebras, buffalos, Giraffes, elephants, Warthogs and Antelopes e.t.c will be sighted. Have Lunch in the Park and proceed to Kampala with a stop at Mpambire drum village for photos and shopping of Art, Crafts and souvenirs before dropping you at the Hotel in Kampala/Entebbe.

4Days Bakiga culture

Day 1: Kampala to Kabale

After breakfast drive to Kabale (the Switzerland of Africa) with a stopover at the Equator and Igongo Cultural Centre for Lunch, photography, shopping of Art, Crafts and Souvenirs. After lunch proceed for Check-in at the Hotel. Relax at leisure.Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Bakiga Culture

After breakfast at 8.00am visit theKabale museum for an exposure of the Bakiga culture. Take a visit to Rugarama and Rushoroza old missionary Cathedrals. Return to the Hotel for Lunch and relaxation.Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi

 After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, a lava dammed lake surrounded by many hills. The word Bunyonyi means the ‘place of little birds’, visit the community development organizations while enjoying sightly viewsof the lake. Have Lunch and in the afternoon take a boat trip on the Lake or swim.Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kabale to Kampala

After breakfast at 8.00am, check-out from the Hotel and drive back to Kampala with stopover enroute for photography, Lunch, shopping of Art, Crafts and Souvenirs before dropping you at the Hotel in Kampala/Entebbe.
